New Software For the Accountant In Your Life

      Here's a solution to that age-old holiday riddle: What do you give an accountant who has everything?
      Columbia-based Management Ultimate Solutions has introduced a pair of software programs just for accountants. The first, called Office Manager for Accountants, costs $399 for a one-year license and is designed to help accountants run their practices.
      The second, SBA Form Plus, costs $799 for a one-year license and aims to streamline the process of applying for a Small Business Administration loan.
      Rajiv Mahajan, who developed the software, is a certified public accountant with his wife's firm, Shalini Gupta and Associates in Columbia. He owns Management Ultimate Solution, which can be found on the internet at www.musinc.com.
      Mahajan said he used SBA Form Plus to submit 47 loan applications, ranging from $20,000 to $6.1 million, to banks in Maryland, Virginia and California, and that 80% were approved.
